Kota Kinabalu: A restaurant in Singapore was among the proud winners announced at the July 12 Michelin awards thanks to a Penangite chef. Mano Thevan helped Thevar restaurant win not one but two stars, a rare feat, at the famous event. He is the only Malaysian to have done so. Mano ran the restaurant, which opened its doors less than four years ago, vibration reported.

“We’ve only been open for about three years and nine months to be exact. I am super happy to receive the second star in the space of a year – the first being back in 2021,” said The Vibes. “As you know, Covid has been particularly difficult and a real struggle for the restaurant sector. “However, the achievements we enjoy today would not have happened without the support of my incredible team, my customers, my suppliers and of course my business partner, my fellow star chef Sun Kim (Meta),

“I am an Indian of Malaysian descent and specialize in Malaysian-inspired Indian cuisine,” said Mano, who took a short break in London after the awards ceremony. He hoped to continue to promote local cuisine on the international culinary map and get the recognition it deserves. .
