Eggslut’s Limited Edition Sandwiches
Famous LA egg sandwich chain, Eggslut, is celebrating its first anniversary with two special egg promotions.
The first is a one-day collaboration – on Sundays – with chef Paul Longworth of the Michelin-starred restaurant Rhubarb Le.
The Rhubarb Sandwich ($15), his take on Eggslut’s Fairfax sandwich, includes not only fluffy scrambled eggs, but also beetroot salmon trout, tangy pickled red onion, arugula and the horseradish sauce – all neatly arranged in a brioche bun.
Pair the Popcorn Mousse Slut Sandwich ($12) — inspired by Rhubarb’s signature emulsion dish — which features mashed carrots topped with slow-cooked egg, chopped chorizo, chorizo oil and buttered popcorn mousse. Complete the experience with a glass of Perrier-Jouet Grand Brut ($18).
If you miss the collaboration dishes, don’t worry. Eggslut’s second limited-time offer runs from September 9 through October 31.
Also a seafood-centric item, the Shrimp and Avocado Sandwich ($16) features plump tiger prawns grilled in a garlic-lime glaze, over-medium eggs, slices of avocado, cheddar cheese and sweet pepper mayonnaise.
End things on a sweet note with the Panna Cotta Slut ($6) – a dessert version of the usually savory Slut dish. It’s shaped to resemble the coddled egg dish, with a sphere of mango and passion fruit on a luxuriously creamy vanilla and hazelnut panna cotta. Egg-cellent.
